The transaction was first seen in Bitcoin Block Bot, an automated blockchain checkerer. According to the latest data from Blockchain explorer, the whale is probably a Bitfinex crypto exchange, which moves funds to and from cold storage.

BitInfoCharts shows that the sending wallet, which was created in August 2019, began receiving and sending huge amounts of Bitcoins in February 2020 and became the 10th largest BTC wallet before the last transfer. Now the wallet is marked as the 12th richest in the order.

The big transaction took place at a time when Bitcoin is undergoing a severe correction. At the time of writing, the royal cryptocurrency is trading at $ 10,230, according to CoinMarketCap, a decrease of almost 15% from its 2020 high of $ 12,359.

With the end of the week approaching, ETH whales were also noticeably active. The Whale Alert platform recorded four large ETH transactions, with the largest movement between two unknown wallets being ETH 200,000 worth US $ 77.7 million. None of the ETHs seem to be heading for a crypto exchange where they could potentially be exchanged for cash.
