Amazon is ready to help Joe Biden distribute Covid-19 vaccines. The new US president has said he wants to vaccinate 100 million US citizens within the first 100 days of his term in office.

Amazon has offered to help. Immediately after being sworn in, the US president received a letter signed by Amazon’s Worldwide Consumer CEO, Dave Clark

The letter, released by NBC, states:

“As you begin your work leading the country out of the COVID-19 crisis, Amazon stands ready to assist you in reaching your goal of vaccinating 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of your administration”.

Amazon is ready to provide its facilities, its logistics, its equipment, so that a widespread vaccination campaign begins in the United States.

“Our scale allows us to make a meaningful impact immediately in the fight against COVID-19, and we stand ready to assist you in this effort”.

Amazon says it is ready to move as soon as the vaccines are available.

The CEO of Amazon also seems to be calling for his employees to be vaccinated as soon as possible. In fact, Clark writes, most of them cannot work from home. Therefore, they and the workers of the Whole Foods Market (also owned by Amazon) will have to be given the vaccine as soon as possible, considering the service they have performed and continue to perform despite the pandemic.

Amazon allies with Biden

Dave Clark’s letter is a turning point in the relationship between Amazon and the US administration. Indeed, relations between Donald Trump and Jeff Bezos were very tense. Suffice it to say that when Donald Trump was deleted from Twitter and Facebook, he joined Parler. Only thing was, Parler, rested on the infrastructure of Amazon Web Service, which directly blacked out the social network.

The other rift dates back to 2019, when the Pentagon was to choose a company to be entrusted with cloud computing services. Although Amazon was the favourite, the contract was eventually awarded to Microsoft.

However, it now seems that the e-commerce giant wants to mend fences with Trump’s successor, Democrat Joe Biden.

After all, one of the most important companies in the United States and the world cannot fail to talk to its own president. And at a time when there is a desperate need for vaccination to end Covid-19 restrictions, Amazon’s offer is bound to catch the US President’s attention.
