Changes in the top 10 largest cryptocurrencies in the last 2 years

The crypto market is worth more than $ 2.35 trillion, there are a number of new cryptocurrencies that have recently reached the top 10 in terms of market capitalization. Two years ago, the first ten cryptocurrencies looked much different in terms of market capitalization than they do today.

Top 10 in August 2019

Since the birth of cryptocurrencies, BTC has held the largest market valuation, and no other digital currency has ever held the highest position. The position in the top ten crypto assets in terms of capitalization changed a lot last year and the year before.

At the end of August 2019, BTC held the top position, but had a market capitalization of only about $ 181 billion. Today it has 413% more. In the same summer, ETH was the second largest crypto by market capitalization with more than $ 20 billion. Today, ETH has a total valuation of around $ 443 billion, a huge increase of 2,115% in two years.

In August 2019, XRP held third place with a market capitalization of $ 11 billion. Its market capitalization has increased by 427%, but now holds the sixth position. BCH was the fourth largest cryptocurrency with a total value of $ 5 billion. Today, it’s $ 12.4 billion, an increase of 148%, but BCH is now in 15th place. Litecoin was the fifth largest with $ 4 billion two years ago, but today the LTC is in 16th place.

Binance coin climbed to sixth that year. Tether reached the top 10 two years ago and is still the most valuable stablecoin. EOS was in eighth position in 2019 and today is only in 35th place. BitcoinSV was in ninth place in 2019 and Stellar maintained its tenth position in August of that year. BSV dropped to 52nd and XLM is now the 22nd largest crypto asset.

Top 10 in August 2020

In August 2020, everything was different. While BTC and ETH held first and second positions, XRP held third position with a market capitalization of $ 12 billion; and the USDT was around 10 billion in August 2020. At that time, BCH, BSV, LTC and BNB remained in the top ten. Chainlink joined with a market capitalization of $ 5.7 billion. LINK is now in 12th place with 13.5 billion.

 

The Crypto.com coin was in ninth position in August 2020, today it is in 43rd place. It is interesting to note that all ten top coins in 2021 have a market capitalization of over $ 20 billion. While in August 2020 only five coins had a capitalization of over $ 10 billion and in 2019 only three coins.
