Designated U.S. President Donald Trump Schedules Meeting with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong to Discuss Staffing Decisions
According to reports, President-elect Donald Trump has scheduled a meeting with Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong on Monday to discuss personnel decisions for his new administration.
This will be Trump’s first meeting with Armstrong since Election Day, reported The Wall Street Journal. The meeting comes as Trump focuses on assembling his cabinet and appointing senior officials.
Musk, Ramaswamy Lead Trump’s Appointments Amid SEC and Treasury Speculations
Trump has recently concentrated on selecting key leaders for his administration. He appointed Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy as co-chairs of the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
There is also speculation surrounding the chair of the SEC, a role crucial for shaping the regulatory landscape of financial and cryptocurrency markets. “Crypto Mom” Hester Peirce and Robinhood’s chief legal officer, Dan Gallagher, are considered potential candidates to succeed Gary Gensler.
Meanwhile, Trump is reportedly meeting candidates for Treasury Secretary later this week at Mar-a-Lago. Fed Governor Kevin Warsh and billionaire Marc Rowan are among the names being considered for the position.

Once a crypto skeptic, Trump has evolved into a strong advocate for the industry. In July, at the Bitcoin 2024 conference, he outlined his vision of a crypto-friendly America under his leadership.
Specifically, Trump announced plans to establish a Presidential Advisory Council for the Crypto Industry, consisting of experts and supporters to foster growth and innovation in the sector.
The council aims to create regulations that promote innovation and development in the crypto sector, led by industry enthusiasts. Furthermore, Trump has stated his ambition to make the U.S. the “crypto capital” of the world, signaling a significant shift towards supporting digital currencies and blockchain technology.
