Although restaurants, shops and some factories are closing down worldwide due to Covid-19, Amazon is recruiting at this time. People are shifting their purchases to this global online store.
Recruitment to Amazon
During the coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic, toilet paper manufacturers and supermarket chains are experiencing high sales. Amazon, as a global online store, is experiencing huge sales growth during this period.
Amazon announced that employed 100,000 workers. Amazon is thus responding to the increased demand for goods by consumers, which are increasing every day. In the long run, the company can thus occupy a dominant position.
US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin warned the US Congress on Tuesday that without significant economic action, unemployment could rise to 20% at the end of the coronavirus pandemic.
Amazon Vice President, Dave Clark, wrote on the company’s official website:
“We also know many people have been economically impacted as jobs in areas like hospitality, restaurants, and travel are lost or furloughed as part of this crisis,”
“We want those people to know we welcome them on our teams until things return to normal and their past employer is able to bring them back.”
Amazon is not the only one
Amazon is not the only company experiencing a business boom during the global coronavirus pandemic. The largest retail chain Walmart is experiencing a rocket leap and reports an increase in interest of more than 70% over previous periods.
The sectors with the highest profits thus include manufacturers of disinfectants, toilet paper and pharmacy. Restaurants try to limit their losses as much as possible and introduce delivery services. And the aforementioned e-shops are experiencing a large increase in visitors.
Thanks to the current situation, Amazon is increasing its turnover and gaining the position of a global dominant online store. Thus we can observe the “Amazonification” of the entire planet in live.
