El Salvador announces the first online and physical casino that will sell NFTs
2 min readEl Salvador has announced its official entry into the metaverse with the launch of its first virtual casino where it will be possible to buy and sell NFT (non-fungible tokens). In addition, the project will also have its physical branch in the country.
The announcement was made on January 19 by the government of the nation and by Astro Babies, the company responsible for the project. According to the announcement, the name of the casino will be “Astro Casino”.
As highlighted by Mónica Taher, director of international affairs for technology and the economy of El Salvador, the initiative will be carried out in collaboration with the government.
“ATTENTION: @AstroBabiesNFT, in collaboration with the Government of El Salvador, will install an NFT Casino in our country. A casino will be created in Metaverso and another physical space in San Salvador. Astro Babies NFTs are on the Solana blockchain.”

In addition, the company responsible informed that the casino will have slot machines and table games, in addition to weekly poker tournaments, among other activities and products. The place will have a games area, lobby, bar, restaurant, DJ, terrace and even a VIP area.
Casino in El Salvador
Although the location has not yet been disclosed, it can be assumed that it will be inside BTC City, as an initiative to boost the economy.
Astro Casino will, in turn, have a virtual version in the metaverse through a Marketplace that will allow you to trade NFT.
Astro Babies sells only three of its own art collections. They include drawings of a baby, a dog and a monkey with different appearances and configurations.
The latter honors and emulates one of the most coveted collections in the industry, the Bored Ape Yacht Club.
