The end of 2019 was marked by two unexpected news for cryptocurrency fans. First, YouTube began blocking cryptocurrency-related content, interfering with many popular channels with thousands of subscribers, and then Google withdrew support for the popular MetaMask crypto app on Google Play.
MetaMask, acting as an extension to the Google browser with a built-in wallet and features to run decentralized applications based on the Ethereum blockchain is, however, like popular YouTube channels again available.
“After careful consideration by Google, we have re-enabled the MetaMask app on the Google Play store (Android). We thank everyone who believed in us and expressed their support, ”MetaMask informed on his Twitter.
Google explained blocking an app by confusing it with an app that mines cryptocurrencies, which is not in accordance with Google Play policies.
MetaMask could also be installed during absence from Google Play using alternative installation methods.
As for YouTubers, the platforms reportedly started blocking because of a bug in their evaluation algorithm. Interestingly, Google also owns YouTube.
