How to watch the Apple event from the UK today: Start time and live stream for April 2021 Spring Loaded event

An Apple event known as Spring Loaded is taking place today in California, which is likely to bring announcements of new or upgraded products from the company.

As always, the tech giant has kept quiet about what will be revealed but there have been plenty of rumours as to what could be on the cards.

Here’s how to watch the event online, when it’s on, and what could be announced.

When is it the event?

The Apple event takes place today at 10am Pacific Time or 6pm in the UK.

Apple’s voice assistant Siri, which initially leaked details about the event before Apple later confirmed it, said: “The special event is today 20 April, at Apple Park in Cupertino, CA. You can watch it live at 10am (PT) on Apple.com”.

How to watch in the UK?

The event will be live streamed on Apple’s website, here.

You can also watch it through Apple’s YouTube channel here.

What can we expect?

Apple has kept quiet about what will be revealed but, of course, there are plenty of rumours.

Some have predicted that iPads could be a key focus of the event, which may include announcements of 11 and 12.9-inch tablets, with the larger tablet set to have a mini LED screen.

The iPads are also expected to have a faster processor and upgraded USB-C ports with some likely to have better cameras and faster chips.

According to MacRumours.com, lower cost iPads could be announced during the event as well.

There has also been talk of so-called AirTags, which are understood to be small round tracking tiles that can be attached to items and then connected to Apple devices using Bluetooth.

It is thought they would be used to help people track down lost items, using the Find My app, which can currently be used to find Apple devices including iPhones and iPads.

Further rumours have suggested new Apple wireless earbuds could be on their way, likely to be known as the AirPods 3.

It’s been suggested that the stylised Apple Logo seen in marketing materials for the Spring Loaded event, which features a multi-coloured Apple, might indicate a new stylus could be revealed, though little is known about this.

Apple is also thought to be working on a new iMac, with a new design, chip and processing unit.

There have also been reports that new MacBook Pros and a new MacBook Air could be coming this year, but they may not be announced at this event.
