Huobi Adopts Spain-issued Visa and MasterCard as Payment Option

Cryptocurrency exchange Huobi has recently added Spain-issued Visa and MasterCard to its list of payment options, giving customers an alternative way to purchase crypto with low transaction fee in Euros.

The service is provided by Huobi Technology Co Ltd, Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC)’s regulated DLT service provider.

Huobi Gibraltar users can pick a fiat currency, and choose the crypto asset and payment option that they prefer for the purchase.

Spain-issued MasterCard and Visa card holders are entitled to a 1.32% transaction fee when buying crypto assets between April 23 and May 19. This does not apply to only Spanish citizens; anyone with a Spanish issued Visa or Mastercard with enabled international transaction are eligible.

As we bolster our global presence and expand into new markets, we will continue adding new fiat on-ramps to give all users a frictionless onboarding experience. And to effortlessly achieve our ambitious goal to empower 100 million households worldwide to own digital assets, so we want to ensure we make it faster, easier, and more secure for new users to get started.

Ciara Sun, the Vice President of Global Markets at Huobi Group

Huobi Gibraltar has been focused on expanding the reach of their business to a wider customer base in European market, providing a fuss-free platform where popular crypto assets can be bought with fiat currencies. Currently, Huobi has integrated points of access for customers in the UK, and the European Union that is interested to enter crypto.
