Huobi Presents New Fiat-to-Crypto Gateway for Pound Sterling Users

2 min read

Huobi Global has recently unveiled the launch of a new fiat-to-crypto gateway catering to its Pound Sterling (GBP) users — a collaborative work with payments solutions provider Clear Junction.

By integrating the new channel, UK users are given an additional and easier way to buy digital assets directly with fiat money.

Adding a new GBP fiat-to-crypto gateway is a significant step for us to develop and demonstrate our commitment to the European community. Now, our pound sterling users can have access to multiple choices. They can deposit GBP through the online banking system at a very fast speed and have their balance arrive instantly, greatly reducing their time cost.

Ciara Sun, Vice President of Huobi Global Markets

The ability to deposit GBP via this new channel allows users to purchase digital assets with their GBP balance directly.

The platform will be holding a promotional campaign in the first two weeks, where users will not be charged for depositing GBP through this channel. Once the promotion has ended, users will be charged with a transaction fee of £1. Moreover, users can enjoy zero transaction fees when buying digital assets with their GBP balance with Huobi’s Quick Buy/Sell service.

“Clear Junction Ltd. is registered in the UK and has years of experience in the payment space and extensive knowledge of risk and compliance. In addition to providing existing pound sterling users with a diversified and convenient way to purchase digital assets, we’re continuing to operate in a compliant manner to offer users a secure trading experience” said Sun.

The current fiat currencies supported by Huobi are EUR, RUB, UAH, KZT and GBP. In order to activate the new GBP fiat-to-crypto gateway, users need to complete a Tier 2 KYC procedure after registering a Huobi account.
