Nvidia Corp. has announced that it will provide free software to artists and other creative people creating a virtual world for metaversion. To this end, the organization has entered into an agreement with several marketplaces where artists sell their 3D content.
Nvidia will support the development of metaverse
Metaverse is a term used for the virtual world, which has become more realistic thanks to the use of augmented and virtual reality kits. These technologies rely heavily on graphical computing, including the use of Nvidia semiconductors.
Nvidia is committed to transforming its leadership in metaverse computing into a suite of software tools for creating and selling content in virtual worlds.
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, a spokesman for Nvidia announced plans to launch a free version of its virtual worlds and 3D content software Omniverse, which can be used in virtual worlds that artists will be able to sell in various markets and content libraries.
To this end, Nvidia has contracted with four marketplaces: Shutterstock TurboSquid (SSTK.N), CGTrader, Sketchfab and Twinbru. Their content will now be displayed in the Nvidia Omniverse software suite. In addition, the Reallusion ActorCore, DazЗD and PlantCatalog e-on software will soon release their own Omniverse-compatible resource.
NVIDIA has announced that it will distribute free versions of its “Omniverse” software to an unspecified number of artists. The annual license price for this program starts at $ 9,000 for corporate clients.
With this move, NVIDIA is accelerating its strategy to strengthen its presence in the nascent metaverse industry.
According to several analysts, the metaverse will be the dominant industry in the medium term, even integrating into the mainstream gaming world. Wells Fargo analyst Aaron Rakers notes that meta-development product development tools could become a $ 10 billion market opportunity within five years.
