Over $19 Million Generated from Resales of NFTs by CryptoPunks Creators

The creators behind the CryptoPunks NFT series, Larva Labs, have just released a new set of NFTs (non-fungible tokens) — Meebits.

Unlike its 2D predecessors, Meebits are presented as 3D-rendered voxelated avatars, and are attached to NFTs on the ETH blockchain. The designs of the blocky avatars are reminiscent of Minecraft and Roblox characters.

The developers wrote:
“We think that, just like 8-bit pixel art, the minimalism and accessibility of voxel art will prove timeless and endearing for generations to come.”

As of writing, a total of 1,109 sales have been made, each token costing 5.0432 Ether (ETH) on an all-time average. Which means that over $19 million have been generated from the resales.

Owners of Larva Labs’ past NFT(s) are entitled to a free Meebit for the next seven days. Should the Meebit be left unclaimed, it will be sold directly from the company.
