Rakuten Europe and Fintech Blockchain Firm Chiliz to Launch Fan Token Partnership

Fintech blockchain firm Chiliz, the company behind Fan Tokens and Socios.com, publicized its newly formed alliance with Rakuten Europe.
The partnership allows Rakuten customers in Spain, UK and Germany to redeem Fan Tokens — collectible, tradable digital assets that include benefits like voting rights, VIP rewards, club and sponsor promotions, AR-powered features, and super-fan recognition on Socios.com — using their Rakuten points.
Fan Tokens for FC Barcelona ($BAR), Atlético de Madrid ($ATM), AS Roma ($ASR), Paris Saint-Germain ($PSG), Juventus ($JUV), Galatasaray ($GAL) and AC Milan ($ACM) are now being offered at Rakuten, as part of its effort to add further depth of service, improved perks and additional partners. More Fan Tokens from Chiliz — Manchester City included — will be added to the offering. In the future, the partnership is set to expand into additional European markets and worldwide.
Chiliz and Rakuten will also be looking out for more integration opportunities, aiming to create a global space where Rakuten and Socios.com users can seamlessly interface with both platforms. Chiliz will also be working with Rakuten blockchain lab, with Rakuten designated as the official node validator for the Chiliz $CHZ blockchain.
