One of the world’s largest fintech companies, Ripple, has decided to sue the gigantic YouTube platform. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has been told that the reason is the inability to prevent fraudsters from abusing stolen accounts to promote fraudulent sites and promotions. It allegedly damages the good name of the whole brand, which by the way is behind one of the biggest cryptocurrencies – XRP.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse: YouTube is damaging our brand
The company is suing a giant owned by Google for defective content that is intended to associate its brand with fraudsters. Recently, there have been stolen accounts that try to withdraw money from unsuspecting visitors with the help of a picture of a famous person.
After BTC and Ethereum, the fraudsters also decided not to despise the fact that they would demand an investment in XRP with the promise of a big profit.
The company and the CEO themselves demand compensation.
The lawsuit states:
Over the last few months, Ripple and Mr. Garlinghouse have suffered – and continue to suffer – irreparable interference in society’s perceptions and reputations. As such, the brand has suffered directly from YouTube, which is unable to deal with the constant rampage of fraudsters on its own platform.
