Tesla owner Elon Musk boasts on Twitter that the car manufacturer has already produced a million cars. She needed 12 years to break the groundbreaking milestone.
Â
A million cars in 12 years may not seem much considering that car manufacturers such as Toyota or the Volkswagen Group produce a million cars every year, but Tesla only produces electric cars. According to the January financial report, the company expects to deliver half a million cars to the world market this year, so it could soon reach a 2 million mark.

Model Y was the millionth vehicle, which Tesla is expected to launch in March (it had previously assumed that it would not be until autumn). They are currently also preparing to build his fourth production facility near Berlin, the second non-American (the first located in Shanghai). The first cars, a factory called Tesla Gigafactory 4, should start production next year.
