The transition to ETH 2.0 is one step closer

Information about ETH 2.0 and the transition to Proof of Stake has been updated again. The network recently activated an important Merge in interoperable Devnet.
ETH 2.0 Merge
Information about the new update came from ETH network developer and researcher Ben Edgington. He revealed that this is a major step and a significant milestone. The network is therefore closer to the transition to the model again Proof of Stake.

Devnet is basically interoperable, so it can work with implementations ETH 2.0. This will allow fans to perform various experiments when switching to the new model.
How to define Merge?
It is basically an update that replaces the Proof of Work consensus with a new model Proof of Stake. So this is a very significant update.
Many Ethereum fans are skeptical about this transition as they do the deadline is constantly shifting. However, this event will significantly speed up the whole process. The current term is therefore stated 1st or 2nd quarter 2022.
In the meantime, we’ve seen more information about an important update called Altair. The date was announced for October 27. This update will address economic logic ETH 2.0.
