Nonfungible tokens (NFTs) took the world by storm in 2021, and some projects recorded sales in excess of billions. Statistics show that the Opensea NFT marketplace, the blockchain game Axie Infinity and the digital collector’s series Cryptopunks together recorded sales of even over $ 10 billion.

A block token game using a native token and NFT, Axie Infinity, crossed the $ 2 billion mark this week as the project recorded total sales of $ 2.17 billion among 640,376 traders. Monthly data shows that the game recorded NFT sales of $ 574 million, a decrease of 33.79% over the past 30 days.
Finally, the NFT collection called Cryptopunks is also a billion-dollar NFT project, with sales of $ 1.33 billion to date. There are a total of 10,000 Cryptopunks, and according to Dune Analytics, there are 2,980 unique owners who own the NFT Cryptopunk. One entity owns approximately 254. The transactions were between 4,948 traders.
The Opensea, Axie Infinity and Cryptopunk projects have so far recorded total sales of $ 10.35 billion.
Data from dune.xyz also show that NFT projects based on Ethereum generated revenues of $ 8.53 billion or 3,100,960 ETH. These NFT projects include Cryptopunks, Art Blocks, Bored Ape Yacht Club, Mutant Ape Yacht Club, Rarible, Meebits, Loot and Superrare. $ 8.53 billion has been completed over 4,471,826 transactions and there are 6,385 NFT projects on Ethereum.
