Strong statement by the High Representative in Uzbekistan: The country, following a ban on cryptocurrency payments at the end of 2019, its decision never will not reevaluate.
According to an official of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, the country will never accept cryptocurrencies as a valid method of payment.
Uzbekistan is fundamentally opposed
Behzod Khamraev, Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan, is convinced that local authorities will never allow residents to use BTC as a payment, since, as he himself claims, BTC is nothing indoor.
In an interview, B. Khamraev argued that BTC is “speculative ” and it never compares to fiat currencies such as the US dollar, the euro, the Japanese yen or the Russian ruble. He added that there are about 28 trillion Uzbek coins in circulation and all are covered by central bank assets.
Khamraev continues: “The banknotes even show the inscription on the duties of the regulator, while the cryptocurrency is unsubstantiated.” Several comments came mainly shortly after El Salvador became the first country in the world to adopt BTC as on September 7 legal tender except for the US dollar.
Not everyone is ready
Uzbekistan official banned its inhabitants to make payments in cryptocurrencies at the end of 2019. The order was issued by the director of the National Agency for Project Management (NAPM) under the control of the President of Uzbekistan. ,, Cryptocurrencies can not to be used as a means of sending or receiving payments in the territory of Uzbekistan, ”states the decree.
But there has also been one positive message for the people of Uzbekistan. In April this year, the NAPM proposed to legalize trading with cryptocurrencies in the country. In this way, they want to enable their inhabitants to exchange cryptocurrencies for national and foreign currencies.
We could see similar statements from Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, who announced that Russia is not ready to accept any cryptocurrency as an official means of payment.
