It seems that male dominance in the cryptoindustry may end soon. According to Bitstamp, in the first three quarters of 2021, the number of women investing in crumpies increased by 198% compared to the same period in 2020.

The number of women in the cryptocurrency sector is growing

Thanks to this fast pace, women are finally able to create gender balance in a sector that was previously considered predominantly male. The largest percentage of new investors is a woman aged 30 to 35. It is strange that the 55-60 age group has become the most successful investors and traders. They tend to invest large amounts and achieve higher returns.

The main reason for this influx is probably the dissemination of information abot cryptocurrencies. The COVID-19 pandemic forced many countries to quarantine, forcing citizens to stay at home for a long time. Of course, people were forced to look for new income opportunities because many were left without jobs. In addition, they understand that the Fiat currency is devastating.

However, reaching balance will take some time. According to a report called Financial Tribes You Need to Know, 66% of investors in the crunchy industry are still men, with about 55% of them under the age of 5.

Nevertheless, progress is evident. According to CoinDance, in 2018 men made up 91% of the crypto community. Interestingly, women enter the cryptoindustry not only as an investor and trader, but also as an employee. According to CoinMarketCap, the number of employees in the blockchain and cryptocurrecy sector increased by 43% in 2020.

The main reason for this influx is the increase in opportunities for online education, which ensures the availability of knowledge and avoids standard barriers. In an interview with Leah Jonas, head of global partnerships at Celsius Network, who is also in charge of education, it was said that the events and seminars are still mostly attended by men.

However, well-known female names in the cryptocurrency sector believe that the female gender has enormous potential to revolutionize innovation and determine the direction of future growth. All they have to do is overcome fear and gloom.
