Skynova conducted a survey to find out if Americans were interested in receiving part of the salary in cryptocurrencies. The answer suggests that most would accept such a possibility.
Company Skynova, , which provides billing software for small businesses, surveyed more than 1,000 U.S. employees. 797 of them belonged to the category of regular employees a 205 to the category of managers. Regarding the sample of respondents, 46.9% of them have already received cryptocurrencies as a form of payment and 53.1% have not.
The survey shows that most respondents – up to 65.5% are interested in receiving part of the payment in cryptocurrencies. 28% of them said that they literally “crave” such a possibility.
Demographics also played a role in the answers. 63% of millennials consider cryptocurrency payments to be an advantage and only 10% said such an option is a disadvantage. Among older people, the willingness to accept cryptocurrencies as a pay is gradually lower.
One third of the respondents said they would be willing to change employers if they did the same job, but their new employer would offer them the possibility of paying cryptocurrencies.
They prefer BTC
In the survey, respondents also asked which cryptocurrencies they prefer on their payroll. 74.3% said they would like to receive BTC. This was followed by ETH and Dogecoin.
The biggest advantages of cryptocurrencies were their great potential for the future. They are aware of the risks especially in connection with their high price volatility and current low adoption.
Conclusion and possible future
The survey was conducted on a relatively small sample of respondents and, in addition, employees who already have experience with this form of payment played a significant role in the answers. Nevertheless, it is an indication that people are beginning to be open to the idea of accepting cryptocurrencies as a payment, or part of it.
A few days ago, the American exchange Coinbase announced that it was preparing a product for the American market, which will allow employers to pay part of their wages in cryptocurrencies through a few simple steps.
