Ghozali Ghozalu, 22, from Indonesia, became an overnight celebrity in the nonfungibleble token sector (NFT) after selling his selfie photos on OpenSea.
The man sold selfies as an NFT and the collection is now worth millions
A collection called “Ghozali Everyday“Contains a selfie taken by a 22-year-old man every day from 18 to 22 years old, covering the period 2017 to 2021. Ghozali sold the images for 0.001 ETH ($ 3.25) and sold them in a few days.
“It’s really a picture of me standing in front of a computer day after day,” Ghozali said of the OpenSea collection.
During the sale, several NFT collectors gathered and somehow it became a meme. To date, the collection has recorded sales of ETH 242.5 ($ 818,250). Ghozali Everyday even topped the OpenSea 24-hour trading volume with a 74,060% increase in activity, according to NFT market data.
At the time of writing, the cheapest NFT in the collection is on sale for ETH 0.49 ($ 1,650). With 933 NFTs in the collection, the Ghozali Everyday collection is worth nearly $ 1.4 million, a huge jump from the $ 3,000 Indonesian earned in primary sales. A few hours ago, the floor price even rose to less than 1 ETH ($ 3,250), so the value of the collection was around $ 3 million at the time.
Interest in Ghonzali’s collection is in line with the massive NFT trading volumes that marked the beginning of 2022. In the first eleven days of January alone, the OpenSea market recorded more than $ 2.4 billion and is set to reach a new all-time high in monthly tradingvolume.
