Anthony Scaramucci, founder and managing partner of SkyBridge Capital, is known as a staunch Bitcoin (BTC) maximalist. Nevertheless, the American also owns altcoins, as he revealed in a recent episode of the Bankless podcast.
On the show, Scaramucci explained that an impressive 50% of his wealth is invested in BTC. At the same time, he sees potential in other cryptocurrencies, including Solana (SOL), Polkadot (DOT) and Avalanche (AVAX).
Solana: A favorite among altcoins
Although Scaramucci sees BTC as the ultimate store of value, he acknowledges that other Layer 1 (L1) networks are better suited for transactions. He praises Solana, one of his favorite altcoins, for its high speed, low cost, and efficiency.
The exceptional performance of the Solana network led to an impressive rally in 2024. The price of the digital currency rose from a low of around $20 to a new all-time high (ATH) of over $263. Asset managers are also showing increasing interest in Solana. Financial institutions such as VanEck and Grayscale have even submitted applications for Solana-based spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
Bitcoin to $200,000 in 2025?
Despite his altcoin investments, BTC remains the undisputed number 1 for Scaramucci. He predicts a promising future for the leading cryptocurrency and expects BTC to reach a price of $200,000 in 2025. This development, he believes, will be driven by a limited supply, increasing institutional adoption through spot ETFs and companies adopting strategies such as those of MicroStrategy and Metaplanet.
A Bitcoin treasury reserve in the US?
Scaramucci is also convinced that the idea of a national BTC treasury reserve could become a reality. He expects that this plan will find sufficient support in the US Senate. If this happens, he believes it could mean a significant boost for the BTC price.
