After a slow end to the year, the crypto market seems to be starting the new year with a bang. Bitcoin is once again attracting the attention of both retail and institutional investors.
Although the BTC price remains below the 100,000 USD mark, there is no lack of optimism, with analysts predicting a possible breakout to prices above 130,000 USD, which some consider “inevitable.”
Experts see potential for further growth
Various traders emphasize that Bitcoin is currently testing crucial technical levels. “The zone around 95,800 USD has acted as resistance, but further growth is likely,” Dutch analyst Daan explained to Crypto Trades. This optimism is supported by increasing trading volumes, indicating strong market demand.
Another prominent analyst, Jelle, draws parallels to previous bullish phases. “The next big upside move is just around the corner,” he says. He predicts that the BTC price could rise to a high between 130,000 and 150,000 USD.
Entrepreneur Jason Williams shares this optimism, calling the current market an “accumulation zone.” He expects a breakout in the first quarter of 2025 with a price target of 131,500 USD. Williams believes this prediction fits with the cyclical patterns that Bitcoin has historically exhibited.
TradFi returns, bullish sentiment grows
In addition to technical and historical analysis, there is also a notable return of traditional financial institutions (TradFi) to the crypto market. Cole Kennelly, founder of Volmex, predicts a growing interest in risk-on assets such as Bitcoin, especially now that the year-end balance sheet adjustments are complete. He expects the coming weeks to be a crucial period for the crypto market.
Macroeconomic context: opportunities and uncertainties
The macroeconomic environment plays an important role in Bitcoin’s future. Despite the US Federal Reserve’s recent rate cuts, concerns about inflation and economic stability remain. However, these uncertainties could work in Bitcoin’s favor, as the cryptocurrency is seen as a potential hedge against inflation.
