The major British bank HSBC is putting out feelers in the direction of the Metaverse. Now one announced in one press release a partnership with the game The sandbox.
Specifically, HSBC is buying a virtual piece of land in the Metaverse game. How much the bank paid for it is not known. However, one would like to use the area to address sports, e-sports and gaming enthusiasts and to get in touch with them.
In general, the bank sees great potential in the Metaverse. Suresh Balaji, Chief Marketing Officer at HSBC, said in the statement:
At HSBC, we see great potential for creating new experiences through new platforms that open up a world of possibilities for our current and future customers. Through our partnership with The Sandbox, we are entering the metaverse that enables us to create innovative brand experiences for new and existing customers.
The Sandbox has already landed a large number of institutional partnerships in the past. Most recently, for example, the luxury fashion house Gucci latched onto the Metaverse game.
