John McAfee was arrested in Europe for refusing to wear a medically certified mask and wearing women’s underwear instead. According to numerous Twitter posts by John McAfee, the former anti-virus tycoon and cryptocurrency dealer has been (probably) arrested in Norway, Spain and Germany.
McAfee was arrested
John McAfee is one of the most controversial characters in the crypto community. From refusing to pay taxes, to running for president of the United States. His views on cryptocurrency also seem controversial to say the least. He moved from “Bitcoin reaches $ 1 million” to “Bitcoin is an ancient technology” and therefore decided to establish his own coin for anonymity and privacy – GHOST.
The latest drama began a few days ago when he tried to board a plane that flew from Norway to Munich, where he planned to hold a meeting of the “Red Scarf Society” on August 11. He wrote on Twitter:
However, the authorities had problems with his unique coronavirus mask. In fact, it was women’s underwear that McAfee said was the safest and he chose to protect his health.
A series of Tweets continued after McAfee’s wife took over his account and clarified the situation:
“He was not arrested for wearing the thong as a mask. He was arrested for refusing to replace it with a “medically certified” over the ear mask. I refused, as well. But they chose to arrest John, and leave me be.”
Later, his wife said in the video that their place is not “your business,” but claimed that her husband had given her a bottle of champagne even though he had been imprisoned.
McAfee has been released
A few hours ago, McAfee regained control of his Twitter account and announced to his followers that he had been released. Although with a monocle, he was back in Belarus.
According to his explanation of the events that took place, he was in fact imprisoned because he “visited Catalonia (Spain) just before Europe banned the Catalans from traveling. McAfee, his wife and private security tried to return to Germany and were denied entry until they wear the masks.
Then comes another part of his explanation – “I wore a thong like a mask. They asked me to replace them. I refused. Wrestle. Prison. Monocle. Release.” McAfee said he spent 14 hours in prison.
