The Metaverse also offers a variety of investment opportunities. ProShares now wants to make this tangible with an ETF.
The ETF professionals from ProShares intend to launch an exchange traded index fund with a focus on the Metaverse. This comes from a corresponding application of the money manager to the competent SEC. The ETF is supposed to be the appropriate name ProShares Metaverse Theme ETF wear and the Solactive Metaverse Theme Index to recreate. This includes companies that align a significant part of their business activity with the metaverse. There are among others Apple, Meta Platforms and Nvidia.
The index, which has only existed since November 15, is around 5.1 percent in the red on a monthly basis. This correlates with the general trend on the stock market, which is also pointing southwards these days.
The ProShares Metaverse Theme ETF is of course not the only tradable ETF with a Metaverse focus. ProShares: Also successful when it comes to BTC
ProShares is not a blank slate in crypto circles either. Because with that ProShares BTC Strategy ETF (BITO) the US treasury was able to bring the first BTC ETF approved in the US to the stock exchanges. And with success: With a trading volume of almost one billion US dollars on the first day, BITO was the second most successful ETF launch in the history of the stock exchange.
ETFs are equity funds that, like stocks, can be traded on the stock exchange. They map the price of an index and allow investors to participate in the price development of the underlying asset without having to own it directly.
The ProShares Metaverse Theme ETF should be tradable 75 days after receipt of the application, i.e. at the beginning of March.
