The payment company MoonPay has become the main candidate for holding an nonfungible token (NFT) at Christie’s, which acts on behalf of the mistery shopper.
Strtup spent $ 754 340 for a rare item from the World of Women (WoW) collection at London’s Christie’s Evening Sale.
The price paid by MoonPay makes # 5672 one of the most expensive WoW items ever sold.
The token has rare properties such as the skin of the Goddess of the night and a tuxedo. Was sold among many world-famous artists such as Keith Haring, Pablo Picasso and David Hockneu.
Moonpay provides an infrastructure that allows web and mobile developers to provide their users with the purchase of virtual currency using credit cards.
At the end of last year, crуptoproject also launched a concierge service, described as “a white-gloved service for wealthy people who want to buy NFT in the easiest way without all the hassle of setting up a wallet, buying, exchanging and then holding NFT token.”
MoonPaу buys the NFT and then charges its customers for them and other services provided. It is not yet clear for who MoonPay bought the WoW item.
Christie’s UK auction house sells the NFT and accepts payment at ETH or BTC, but only through companies approved by the UK’s FCA.
Christie’s sold a collection of nine cryptopunks and a work by Beeple last year.
