Jordan Belfort, known as the “Wolf of Wall Street,” has revealed that he owns a huge amount of XRP cryptocurrency for cross-border payments, which U.S. financial regulators say is an unregistered security.

Belfort claimed that his “TV guz” believed that XRP was probably the “best thing from sliced bread” and was aiming for $ 10,000. While he hopes the unnamed guy is right and the cryptocurrency reaches an skyrocketing goal, Belfort is content with $ 10.

“I am a big XRP holder! My TV guy thinks it’s the best thing about sliced bread. He thinks it will cost $ 10,000. I hope he’s right, but I’ll settle for $ 10. ”

The XRP community welcomed the strange support, with most suggesting that $ 10 a coin was a realistic target. At this price, XRP would have to reach a market capitalization of approximately $ 500 billion. For perspective, the token is currently trading at $ 1.07 and has a market capitalization of approximately $ 50.12 billion.

Interestingly, XRP is one of the few cryptocurrencies that has not yet managed to record a new historical maximum during the current bull cycle. The token is still 68.6% below its ATH $ 3.14 of January 2018 at the time of writing.

Jordan Belfort, arguably one of the most well-known stockbrokers in history, now a motivational speaker, confessed to money laundering and stock market fraud and spent only 22 months behind bars. He was released due to cooperation with law enforcement agencies. His memoirs, The Wolf of Wall Street, was adapted into a 2013 Hollywood film with Leonard DiCaprio.

Remarkably, he used to be a BTC skeptic. Specifically, Belfort agreed with Jamie Dimon’s statement from JPMorgan in 2017 that BTC was a “scam.” But since then, he has changed his attitude toward cryptocurrency. Earlier this year, he said BTC had more benefits than stocks, such as its fixed offering, which could push the primary cryptocurrency to $ 100,000.
