At the same time, the current bitcoin price forecast confirms that the number one cryptocurrency has enormous potential: As former mathematics professor Aurelien Ohayon writes to his more than 139,000 followers on X, the bitcoin bull run has begun and with it, the journey to a six-figure price.
“It will go up to $500,000.”
The expert added a chart showing bitcoin’s price ranging from $100,000 to $200,000, and up to more than $500,000 over the course of 2025 – and this before the end of the first quarter! In other words: According to his forecast, Ohayon believes that bitcoin will reach $500,000 by March 2025! BTC is currently trading at $66,915 after a 0.6% drop in the last 24 hours, just 9.32% below its previous all-time high of $73,750 set only four months ago.
However, the unit price in the high five-figure range presents an insurmountable barrier for many investors. Many are not interested in buying just a fraction of bitcoin and instead look to Ethereum. The second most valuable cryptocurrency is nearly 20 times cheaper than bitcoin, allowing many investors to purchase whole coins.
Predictions also suggest that ETH has the potential to increase tenfold, optimizing the risk-reward ratio. Ethereum is still at the very beginning of its ETF inflows. Therefore, it is quite possible that purchasing it at this moment could pay off.
Does ethereum still have a future?
What investors should consider: Ethereum offers modern features that bitcoin does not yet have. Meme coins on Bitcoin (such as WZRD) have not yet gained significant traction – unlike meme coins on Ethereum. For years, they have continuously attracted capital, with billions of dollars tied up in the ecosystem. This also contributes to the bullish predictions for ETH – for example, trading legend Peter Brandt believes that ETH will shoot up to $5,600 in the short term.
