Bitcoin Africa: Amazon prime introduces new documentary

Bitcoin Africa came rather late as Alakanani Itireleng’s child died before she could raise funds to pay for his medical bills. The documentary filmed by Tamarin Gerriety, for award-winning South African media company Documinute, releases on Amazon Prime on Friday. It discusses how Bitcoin pioneers in Southern Africa were surmounting the common problems on the continent — poor infrastructure, mismanaged markets, high remittance costs, and pervasive poverty — with cryptocurrency.

A detailed study on the African Bitcoin economy, published by analysis firm, Arcane Analysis, is expected to be released alongside the documentary.

Africa’s potential with cryptocurrency

The opportunity on the African soil has to offer, has been recognized by crypto as the report highlighted various crypto projects that are most active in the Sub – Saharan region of Africa.
