One of the industry’s best-known crypto traders predicts a bull run until 2027 – and a “serious crisis” after that. Will bitcoin become worthless in the long run? What does the forecast mean?
Will Bitcoin rise again?
The Bitcoin halving is over and the BTC price is gaining momentum following the release of the US CPI data, having gained as much as 7% in the last 24 hours, currently trading at $66,166.
Market watchers expect a bull run that will last for some time. For example, top analyst PlanB predicts a move to $500,000. Twitter creator Jack Dorsey is also bullish on BTC as he sees the price at $1 million.

Price targets that are not foreign to the popular crypto trader Michaël van de Poppe. In a long-term Bitcoin forecast, however, he also speaks for the first time about the time after the current bull run – and reveals what he expects for BTC.
According to the chart expert, liquidity is present on “both sides.” Both buying and selling pressure can determine the markets. His forecast is accordingly ambivalent: The Dutchman predicts a bull market lasting several years – but does not seem to believe that BTC will continue to flourish after that!
“I think this cycle will continue until the end of ’26, maybe ’27, and then we’ll face a serious crisis.”

Poppe suggests: After the spectacular bull run, Bitcoin could experience massive profit-taking, causing the digital asset to give up a large part of its gains!
What’s more, the bull market is likely to be followed by an equally long bear market – a phase in which BTC falls back to old lows according to historical charts! Traders and analysts have been warning for some time: investors should not miss out on taking profits after prices have exploded – otherwise they could end up empty-handed.
Which cryptocurrency will explode in 2024?
Poppe writes that he would continue to buy Bitcoin. At the same time, however, he also indicates that he expects larger upward movements in altcoins in the short term. BTC dominance, according to Poppe, has probably reached its peak. And:
“I think the news surrounding the Ethereum ETF will be a big catalyst for the markets next week, in a positive way. I expect this to be the rotation for altcoins.”
