ConsenSys and HK University Co-Launch Covid-19 Digital Health Passport

ETH software company ConsenSys and the Chinese University of Hong Kong have just launched the Medoxie COVID-19 Digital Health Passport.

The COVID-19 Digital Health Passport utilizes blockchain technology to record all events related to COVID-19 including test results, temperature checks, vaccinations, and immunity in a decentralized, private and secure way.

Users can register and set up an account on the platform — available in English or Chinese. After a successful verification of their identity, the user can grant permission to healthcare providers to store test results on their mobile passport, decide who to share their records with, and be notified of any updates made to their records.

The decentralized way of storing the patient’s Private Health Information (PHI) ensures that the privacy of personal data remains safeguarded, while also allowing limited and consented access to the PHI.

Developed with ConsenSys Quorum and Codefi Orchestrate, the digital passport will be used by multiple stakeholders such as HK-based healthcare professionals and academics. It will be available on the app for patients to use.
