English Premier League footballers from the Watford club now wear the logo for the 2021-22 season Dogecoin.
Promotion of Dogecoin in English Premier League matches
Players at Watford Football Club, an English professional football team based in Watford, Hertfordshire, have the Dogecoin logo on their sleeves. The team plays the Premier League, the first league of English football.
Web Athletic informed that “one of the sponsors in the jerseys of Watford players for the 2021-22 season will be the cryptocurrency Dogecoin.” During Saturday’s Premier League match, football players already had the Dogecoin logo on their left sleeve.
In July, Watford Football Club announced a multi-year partnership with Stake.com, a global platform for crypto casinos and sports betting. The company said: “Starting in 2021/22, Stake will become the main sponsor of the club’s jerseys in the Premier League.”
The company added that “To celebrate the start of the partnership, Stake will run cryptocurrency initiatives, including the distribution of 10 million DOGEs on international platform.”
Prior to partnering with Stake, Watford had a contract with Sportsbet.io since 2019. The players had Sportsbet.io T-shirts on the front and BTC sleeves on the front.
