South Korean technology giant Samsung has introduced a new flagship smartphone with extensive cryptocurrency support. The presentation took place in a meta-version.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra with “safe”
At the virtual event “Unpacked 2022”, which took place on February 9 to present the new Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphone, the technology giant revealed that Samsung now has its own wallet. As explained by the manufacturer, the wallet was designed to provide users with access to digital products, including cryptocurrencies.
In addition, Samsung emphasized that it pays increased attention to privacy and the secure storage of personal data. The wallet is also a secure safe where users can store various identifying information such as driver’s licenses, student ID cards, ID cards, digital house or car keys, bank credit or debit cards, ID cards and even coronavirus vaccination certificates.
The wallet will run on Samsung Pay’s own payment platform. The Samsung Knox Vault platform takes care of security, encrypting confidential information, personal data and blockchain keys and storing them separately from the phone’s main operating system.
