In early January, Cryptheory announced that Samsung decided to integrate NFTs into its Smart TVs. Now, the company has confirmed the news. At the same time, it announced its partner in the initiative: Nifty Gateway, a platform that facilitates the purchase, sale and storage of NFT owned by Gemini.
NFTs on TV
In a statement released this Wednesday (30), the companies said they will develop the first NFT platform for Smart TV.
In this way, users will be able to browse, view, buy and display digital art in NFT. In addition, they will have access to more than 6,000 art from emerging and renowned artists, including Beeple, Daniel Arsham and Pak.
The service will be available on Samsung’s 2022 premium product lines, including QLED and Neo QLED TV. Nifty Gateway will also provide its standalone app for The Frame and MICRO LED offerings.
“Nifty Gateway’s mission is to bring NFTs to one billion people, empowering creators and simplifying the way customers buy, sell, create and maintain NFTs. We are committed to making NFTs affordable and NFT buying more seamless than ever before,” said Duncan Cock Foster, co-founder of Nifty Gateway.
Also according to Foster, Samsung’s commitment to improving the user experience and its focus on the highest quality displays aligns perfectly with Nifty’s vision of allowing users to interact with their favorite creators.
Benefits to NFT users
According to the statement, with this partnership, Samsung and its customers will benefit from:
- Verified digital art. NFTs minted by Nifty are verified to ensure customers receive quality content.
- State-of-the-art custody technology. Nifty has an escrow option, which means users can store NFTs in a secure wallet.
- Payment flexibility. Customers can use various methods to purchase NFT, including debit, credit cards or cryptocurrencies.
