What is Sei Coin?

An annual return of +9,809%, +162% in the last month alone – Sei Coin (SEI) is currently going through the roof! However, many investors are hearing about cryptocurrency for the first time and asking themselves: What is Sei Coin?

SEI Coin is a new cryptocurrency for decentralized exchanges, based on the SEI platform. The SEI platform, in turn, is a decentralized application development portal. This allows developers to create smart contracts and dApps that run on different blockchains.

SEI Coin acts as the native token of the SEI platform. It is used to pay transaction fees, provide liquidity and participate in the governance of the platform. For example, it allows its users to trade different types of assets – including tokens, NFTs or in-game items.

Even longer-term forecasts expect profits for Sei Coin, but there are also not quite as optimistic forecasts:

Walletinvestor.com calls Sei Coin an “outstanding” investment, sees a move to $1.25 (+65%). According to the 5-year forecast, SEI could rise to $3.86 by 2029. In relation to the current price, this corresponds to a return of 408%.
Gov.capital holds out the prospect of a similar development. The 1-year forecast sees SEI at $1.06 by January 2025, the 5-year forecast holds SEI -Rate of 3.30 dollars by 2029 for possible (+334%).
