The NFT Worlds project added a blockchain layer modification to Microsoft’s video game, Minecraft, so that users could access Web 3.0 features.
Minecraft acquires Web З.0 integration
NFT Worlds is a metaverse project created on Minecraft servers with a twist based on the Polygon network. Minecraft software is open source and can be used by anyone with technical know-how. In 2021, the game had 141 million active users.
The project also demonstrated in-game purchases using the WRLD token: a simple WRLD store was built in one of the worlds to purchase Apple. In a separate tweet, it was announced that this feature will be launched soon and will come with low fees.
In-game $WRLD purchasing, transactions & the P2E $WRLD layer will be rolling out soon. Completely frictionless, no gas required to spend/transact $WRLD in an NFT World.— NFT Worlds (@nftworldsNFT) February 12, 2022

The developers of NFT Worlds are not officially affiliated with Microsoft, and the company currently allows them to create modes and add them to the Minecraft ecosystem.
