2 min read

Blockchain-based online travel agency Travala has announced an NFT-based travel rewards program.

According to the Travala publication, the program gives users access to their Smart Diamond membership level.

Travel Tigers

The NFT collection was named Travel Tigers. It comprises 1,000 randomly generated NFTs that Travala said is the first in a series to be released on the ETH network.

In practice, each NFT helps users access Smart Diamond membership on Travala.com, where they are eligible to earn ambassador bonuses. Smart Diamond membership will be available to users who lock up to 2,500 AVA tokens and also connect their Travel Tiger NFT.

In addition, each quarter, a pool of travel credits worth 10% of Travala’s net income will be made available for claim by Smart Diamond members.

Members also have the opportunity to receive random travel discounts. Rewards range from luxury hotel stays to airline tickets and private retreats.

In addition to the bonuses, Smart Diamond members will also receive a number of other benefits.

The list includes up to 10% loyalty reward paid in AVA; up to 3% discount on full payment with AVA; 5,000 Governance Votes on proposals, TRVL token airdrops; access to exclusive community forums and online and in-person events, among others.

Sale of NFTs

As reported by Travala, NFTs can be traded on OpenSea after initial minting and sale on the website.

According to the company, royalties will be collected from all secondary market trades of the Travel Tiger NFTs. And 50% of the amount will go to the Community Pool to fund AVA community initiatives.

“It’s great to see Travala.com continue to innovate towards the future of travel. We see a tremendous opportunity to enhance the travel experience through NFTs and are excited to continue evolving the offering in line with travelers’ needs and desires,” said Juan Otero, CEO of Travala.com.
