Study: The primary use of cryptocurrencies is not a black market

Many cryptocurrency enthusiasts have become accustomed to the fact that dark web is the largest market for cryptocurrencies. However, a new study shows that cryptocurrency use has long been no longer the exclusive domain of arms, drug and credit card trade. The black market has moved into the background.

The study was conducted by Visual Objects.

A new study shows that the use of cryptocurrencies has largely reached the legal sphere. People use them to buy food or clothing.

Visual Objects first asked 983 respondents about several questions that were associated with cryptocurrencies. These respondents do not own any cryptocurrencies and only have a shallow overview of the issue. On the other hand, the company asked 157 people,which use cryptocurrencies.

30% of the first group think that the primary reason is the purchase of illegal goods and services on the black market. Only 15% of this group believe in legal use. The rest are investments of various kinds.

However, this thesis was refuted by the second group, which buys food through various services. The second place was clothing.

However, cryptocurrencies are still taken as investment intermediaries. For example, gold or stocks. Drugs and weapons are above 10%, which is still a big difference. The questionnaire was, of course, anonymous.
