The work in question is titled “The Associated Press calls the 2020 Presidential Election on Blockchain – A View from Outer Space” and was designed by Marko Stanojevic, a famous digital artist who worked with top artists and brands.

AP has created and published the NFT on Ethereum via their Ethereum address. With the address, AP used Everipedia’s OraQle to declare the winner of the US 2020 Presidential Election on Ethereum.

This is the first moment in US history where a US election was called on the blockchain and it has certainly not escaped the eyes of the publications like Forbes and Nasdaq News.

A winner of 54 Pulitzer Prizes, AP has been playing an important role in US elections as they have been counting votes since 1848, which includes national, state and local races. As well as key ballot measures.

“AP has a long history of capturing important moments throughout history. Digital historical artifacts like this innovative NFT artwork represent the next step in the evolution of marking historical events digitally,” stated Dwayne Desaulniers of AP, the Director of Data Licensing.

The space view of the 2020 US Presidential electoral college map is pictured in the artwork. With the help of OraQle, the election data that AP published on-chain was used to generate the map.

”The Associated Press calls the 2020 Presidential Election on Blockchain – A View from Outer Space” is currently on bid at OpenSea, the largest NFT marketplace in the world. The auction is expected to run for seven days since its start on March 3, 2021. All bids will be denominated in ETH.
