BitPay’s Wallet App Receives Google Pay Update

US-based BitPay Prepaid Mastercard holders can now connect their card to Google Wallet and spend with Google Pay — all thanks to the latest update.

Google Pay enables the cardholders to make secure contactless purchases in-app, both online and in-person, via Android devices. BitPay mentioned that support for Apple Pay and Samsung Pay will arrive soon.

Consumers are seeking more new places and ways to spend their crypto and we want to make their experience fast, easy and secure. Adding Google Pay makes it easy and convenient for customers to live life on crypto and benefit from the increased value crypto provides from day-to-day items to luxury purchases.

The BitPay Wallet app allows users to manage, protect, track and spend cryptocurrencies such as BTC, Ether, Doge, XRP, Binance USD, and USD Coin.

The app also has a crypto-to-fiat functionality. This means that users can instantly turn crypto into dollars, which can then be transferred into the card and used in places where Mastercard is accepted. Users can also opt to use the card for online purchases and to withdraw cash from ATMs.

Those waiting for the arrival of their physical BitPay Card can add the virtual card to Google Wallet and can be used immediately with Google Pay. The customers must remember to update their BitPay app to the latest version beforehand.
